Frequently Asked Questions
What is the GED Ready®?
GED Ready® is the official practice test for the GED®, created by the same team that develops the real exam. It’s designed to show students how likely they are to pass and exactly what to study next.
Each GED Ready test mirrors the format and questions of the actual GED, and covers one of the four test subjects:
- Mathematical Reasoning
- Reasoning Through Language Arts
- Science
- Social Studies
After completing a GED Ready test, students get:
- A score report predicting their likelihood of passing
- A personalized study plan based on their results
- Confidence from seeing what to expect on test day
The test must be taken on a computer (not a mobile device). Students have up to 120 days to complete a test once started, and each test can be taken once.
GED Ready is the only practice test built to give students real insight into their readiness and paired with Brainfuse tutoring, it becomes a complete path to GED success.
Do we need existing GED programming to join?
No. The pilot is designed to work whether you’re building a GED program from scratch or expanding what you already offer.
Libraries that want to:
- Offer structured GED prep without needing additional staff
- Launch a GED support program for the first time
- Expand access to high-quality GED prep for job seekers and adult learners
- No prior GED programming experience is required—this is a fully supported pilot with everything included.
What do you need to take GED Ready™ tests?
- Must take on a computer
- Minimum internet browser version: Internet Explorer 8.x, Firefox 6.x, Safari 5.x, or Chrome 12.x
- Javascript and cookies must be enabled
- Includes the on-screen calculator used on the official GED® test. You can also use a hand held scientific calculator. We recommend using the TI 30XS.
- We recommend that you take the test in one sitting at a quiet place where you can fully concentrate. Once you begin the exam, you have 120 days to complete it. The test will be a better predictor of your performance on the GED® test when you take it in one sitting.
What is the cost?
The pilot program is $150 per student, with a minimum of 5 students per library. This includes access to official GED Ready® practice tests, personalized study plans, Brainfuse prep content, and 24/7 live tutoring across all four test subjects.
Why should my library join?
The GED Ready® practice test is the only one built by the test makers and offers a clear “ready or not” result so patrons don’t waste time guessing what to study.
Combined with Brainfuse’s live tutoring and prep tools, your library can offer a high-impact program with measurable results.
How long is the pilot?
The pilot is designed for learners aiming to earn their GED by the end of 2025, and ideally within 3 months.
What happens after the pilot ends?
There’s no commitment to continue. Brainfuse will gather feedback from participating libraries to improve the program for future use.
